Movements translate vision into action.

Russell is the white guy on the right

This just came in from my mate Russell Godward. He’s just back from somewhere in West Africa. . .

Steve

Just got back. We were training leaders from across several West African, majority-Muslim countries. It was a great time, and we are beginning to see progress. The gospel is going to unreached areas and tribes, people are believing and being baptized, new churches are being started, and disciples are being made. Praise be to God!

But at the end of each day, as we returned to our simple guest house, and it got dark, people started gathering in the compound. We met Ali across the street at his family's store, and he would come by each evening, bringing some of his Muslim friends.

Matthew would also join us. We had met him previously as he had worked at the guest house where we were staying. He was from a Catholic background, but was not following Jesus.

The two security officers would also join in each evening. And then some of the young guys whose parents were at the training that week. There were about ten or twelve of us meeting by the end of the week.

Each evening, we would have fun, care for one another, pray together, study simple stories of Jesus from the Bible, and share the gospel. We continually invited these young guys to follow the Lord.

By the end of the week on our last evening together, Ali placed his trust in Jesus. It was incredible to see the work of the Spirit in his life. This is what happens as you reach out, care for people, and share the gospel.

Russ

A few observations. Notice how movement practitioners have fresh stories. Russell didn’t go to Africa to stand on a platform and teach a workshop or preach a sermon.. He went to make disciples and disciple makers. Nothing happens until the gospel goes out and disciples are made.

This is what Russell does wherever he goes. In his own neighborhood, around Britain and in West Africa. Is it multiplying in Britain? Not yet, but Russell and his teams have fresh stories because they are doing something.
