Blogging is the first technology to enable a simple conversation to go instantly global.
Scoble and Israel
Just finished reading Naked Conversations. Here’s what the authors say sets blogging apart from other forms of communication:
- Publishable. Anyone can publish a blog. You can do it cheaply and post often. Each posting is instantly available worldwide.
- Findable. Through search engines, people will find blogs by subject, by author, or both.
- Social. The blogsphere is one big conversation.
- Viral. No form of viral marketing matches the speed and efficiency of blogs.
- Syndicatable. By clicking on an icon, you can get free “home delivery” of RSS-enabled blogs.
- Linkable. Because each blog can link to all others, every blogger has access to millions of other bloggers.
Are you passionate about something? Do you have something to say that the world needs to hear? Maybe it’s time you started blogging. . .
Tomorrow, what Scoble and Israel have to say about getting it right.

Soundsd like a good book Steve. Any mention of the printing press and its parallels to blogging?
No link that I can think of. There certainly are parallels. Just watched the film on Luther that came out last year with Ralph Fiennes. Reminded that Luther owed his survival, humanly speaking, to the printing press. I guess he would have been a blogger if he was around today!
Yes I agree with blogging. It can serve a variety of purposes depending on the individual’s needs. I really enjoy it. I have different blogs for different reasons. But my front page I use to try and make a difference in the world. But I also have another blog that is dedicated to my kids. It’s amazing how quickly we can find our VOICE through a blog and the impact it can have on people’s lives.
Chris, enjoyed visiting your site. Great motto!
Likewise Steve been reading your site for quite a while now and always like your analysis of Christian movements
This is what I needed to ‘bump into’ today. I needed the educated encouragement to go ahead and do it. Just getting started. http://www.maximizeothers.wordpress.com
Let me know if it appears I’m getting off to a proper start – please.
